ConsignmentSomeone is looking for what is hanging unworn
Good clothing sits in wardrobes because selling it privately is tedious and selling it cheaply feels worse. Bring it in and we photograph it properly, price it against what it is actually achieving on the resale market, and put it in front of people who recognise what they are looking at.
Tuesday · Wednesday · Saturday
12–4pm
Walk in — no appointment needed. Intake runs on these three afternoons only, so that every piece gets looked at properly rather than squeezed between customers.
We accept a maximum of two large shopping bags per visit, so that every piece gets looked at properly. Please arrive by 3.30pm if your bags are full.
The three ways people usually sell, and what is wrong with them
Selling it yourself
You photograph it, describe it, field questions, meet strangers, and defend your price to people who want the piece for a quarter of it. It works, and it costs you a weekend per item.
The large marketplaces
Wide reach, and your piece competes with ten thousand others on price alone. Commission on a luxury piece frequently lands in the same range as ours, and nobody handles the piece with any care.
Consigning with us
We authenticate, measure, photograph, price, and sell it — in the boutique and online at once — to people who come here precisely because the floor is edited. You do nothing after drop-off.
What higher-value pieces get
Anything above $1,500 is independently authenticated at our cost, photographed in a full six-image set, and listed with a provenance note. Nothing is bundled onto a rack and forgotten.
Also worth knowing
If you bring a piece we cannot price fairly for this market, we will tell you where it would do better rather than take it and let it sit for ninety days.
From your wardrobe to the floor
Walk in on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday
Between 12 and 4pm. No appointment, no booking, nothing to arrange — just come in during one of those three windows. Reading the consignment agreement beforehand saves time, but you can do it in store.
Bring your pieces, freshly laundered
Clean, pressed, and on hangers if you can. Bring dust bags, boxes, authenticity cards, spare buttons, and original receipts for anything designer — they materially raise what a piece achieves.
We review together
We go through each piece for quality, condition, and seasonal relevance, and tell you plainly what we can take. Anything we cannot, you take home the same visit.
Authentication and documentation
Designer pieces are verified in house; above $1,500 they also go to an independent specialist, at our cost. Every accepted piece is measured flat and photographed in daylight.
Priced to the resale market
Not to original retail, and not to what we wish it were worth — to what comparable pieces in comparable condition are actually achieving right now. Pricing is agreed with you at drop-off.
It sells, you are paid
Your piece is on the floor and in the online catalogue for 90 days. You receive your agreed split when it sells.
Walk-in only, three afternoons a week
There is nothing to book. Bring your pieces in on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday between 12 and 4pm and we will go through them with you there and then.
12–4pm
The only times we take pieces in. Come as late as 3.30pm if you have just a few; earlier if you have a wardrobe.

Worth reading ahead so drop-off is quick. You can also complete it in store.
Read the TermsAsk about a piece first
Walk-in hours are the only way to drop off. But if you have something high-value and would rather know our view before carrying it across town, email us a description and we will reply with an honest read.

Consignment terms, in full
Nothing here should be a surprise on the day. If anything is unclear, ask before you drop off rather than after.
How do you decide a price?
We look at what comparable pieces in comparable condition are currently achieving on the resale market — not at original retail, which is usually irrelevant, and not at what a piece "should" be worth. Brand, model, era, condition grade, size, and season all move the number.
Do you take everything I bring?
No, and that is the point. A tightly edited floor is what allows us to sell your good pieces at a proper price. We review each item for quality, condition, and seasonal relevance and hand back anything we cannot place. You take declines home the same visit.
Read what we accept before you come so nothing is a wasted trip.
What happens if my piece does not sell?
At the end of the 90 days we contact you. Collect it, or ask us to donate it to the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre or BabyGoRound. Pieces not collected within 14 days of that notification are donated.
Why walk-in only, and only three afternoons?
Because looking at a wardrobe properly takes attention, and attention is the thing a small shop runs short of. Setting aside three fixed afternoons means whoever is on the floor is there to go through your pieces with you — rather than doing it between customers and rushing the assessment that determines what you get paid.
It also means you never arrive to find the one person who can value your Chanel bag is not in that day.
I cannot make Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday. What are my options?
Send us an email at info@clothesnest.com and we will work something out.
I have a lot to consign. Can you come to me?
Send us an email with rough detail and we will reply with options.
Bring them in on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday
Between 12 and 4pm. No appointment, nothing to arrange — just walk in.
