Our StoryYour Preloved, Reimagined
The Clothes Nest exists because good clothing deserves a second owner, and because the people who own good clothing deserve somewhere that treats it properly on the way through.
Built on second chances, run like a boutique
The Clothes Nest started with a simple idea: that quality clothing deserves more than one life. Our founder grew up believing fashion should be both joyful and responsible — that a beautiful piece should not end up in a landfill because a season changed.
After years of watching remarkable garments go unworn or discarded, the shop took shape. A place where every item is chosen rather than accepted, every consignor is treated as a partner rather than a supplier, and buying preloved feels no different from buying new — because the piece has been authenticated, measured, described honestly, and presented properly.
What we have learned since opening is that the hard part is not finding stock. It is saying no. A floor that takes everything is a thrift shop, and a thrift shop cannot sell a $2,000 coat for what it is worth. So we edit, hard, and that discipline is what lets us pay consignors properly and price fairly at the same time.
Four things we will not compromise on
Honesty about condition
We photograph flaws and name them in plain language. A grade is never used to avoid describing a specific problem.
Certainty about authenticity
Verified in house, and independently above $1,500. Anything uncertain goes back to the consignor. There is no "probably" tier.
A properly edited floor
We take a fraction of what is offered to us. It is the only way your good pieces sell at a price worth having.
Nothing wasted
Unsold pieces go to the DEWC and BabyGoRound at the consignor's choosing. Never to landfill, never baled for export.
Without the sermon
Buying one very good coat that someone else has already broken in is a better decision than buying four new ones. That is the whole argument, and it does not need dressing up.
Every piece sold here is a piece that did not need to be made.
Come and see it in person
Photographs are honest here, but a good coat still needs to be handled. We are always happy for you to come in and try things with no intention of buying.
